- Windows - the text of a chapter is displayed in a window
- • to view a different chapter use the Jump To… item of the Navigate menu
- • to view a different chapter in a new window use the New item of the File menu:
- · to specify a book use either the popup menu, or type some letters from the name (any unique abbreviation of the book name is sufficient);
- · to specify a chapter number type the number after the book name

- Scrolling - moving the text displayed in the window
- • to scroll the window down a page use the space bar
- • pressing space will also jump to the next chapter when necessary (it's possible to read the entire Bible just using the space bar)

- • to scroll down a line at a time use the return key
- • to scroll the window to bring the selection into view use the enter key
- • PageUp/PageDown/Home/End keys work as expected

- • to change the speed of scrolling when clicking in the arrows of the scroll bar so that it is:
- · faster use the Command ⌘ key;
- · slower use the Option key;
- · very slow use the Control key
- • reverse the direction of scrolling by using the Shift key

- Exporting - copying text out of BibleBrowser
- • to create a text file of a:
- · chapter use the Save item of the File menu;
- · selection use the SaveSelection item of the File menu;
- · range of chapters use the Export item of the File menu (a text file of the entire Bible can be made by exporting from Genesis to Revelation)

- • to copy text from BibleBrowser to another program Copy a selection and Paste using the Edit menu

- Searching - finding words
- • to search for a particular phrase use the Find item of the Search menu
- • to perform other kinds of searching click the More Choices button in the Find dialog:
- · to search for any one of a number of words click the any of them button;
- · to search for a number of words occuring within a certain distance of each other click the all of them button and type the approximate distance;
- · to restrict searches to a range of chapters choose the chapters

- Bookmarks - selections that can be recalled
- • to set a bookmark of the currently selected text use the Set Mark… of the Bookmarks menu
- • to jump to a bookmark choose the name from the Bookmarks menu
- • to open a new window with the bookmark selection use the option key while choosing the name

- Miscellaneous
- • to select windows with the keyboard use ⌘1, ⌘2, ⌘3, …
- • to use these keys to choose bookmarks instead use the Preferences item of the File menu
